Digging for Treasure

This week I went over to a friend's place to take a look at some old coins.  We were hoping to find some gold coins from the 60's or earlier - but only found silver.  While we were digging through the stash his mom came down to supervise and it was quite a scene.

This Bi-Centenial Silver Proof set is only worth about $15 and we just didn't have the payday we had hoped for!

Weekly Email 9-24-10

Seeing Jerry Seinfeld perform live was a great pleasure.  For about 45 minutes he kept the crowd laughing and discussed the obviously funny things in life.  I wish I could lay out some of the lines - but of course they would be lost here in text.

Of course no night with celebrity is without the classic grip and grin photo where Jerry has to greet all the movers and shakers of the event - and then of course the photog needs to jump in at some point and say - Hellllloooo Jerry.  Everyone was dropping lines and i can only imagine what his appearances are like hearing your character repeated back to you all the time.  He does it well.  This was from a great event - the Celebration of Courage event for research in children's cancer.

Waxing Gibbous at 95%

Tonight the moon is shining bright as it nears it's full phase and the last day of summer.  Shot with a 700mm lens and a pretty hefty crop of 20% of the frame or so.

Weekly Email 9-17-10

This was one of the best weeks for camera action.  I had so many amazing subjects to shoot so I'm not quite sure what to pick.

The 9-11 anniversary led to many emotional scenes and beyond the static shots of the beams I did a GIF which shows darkness falling on downtown NYC.  Click the link to see that in motion.

Then I was lucky enough to see The Wall performed by Roger Waters.  Truly and amazing experience and thus you need a shot from that show.  During the concert they built the wall then tore down the wall and the GIF link shows the wall and all the color and crashing.

Then it's Fashion Week in NYC so there are tons to choose from!   Look at the faces of the folks in the crowd.

There were also more shots from the courthouse construction project across the street and lastly the issue in NYC with the new voting forms which I can validate are ridiculous in their design and function.

Have a great weekend.

The Wall - Roger Waters

This week I was lucky enough to see The Wall concert.  I really can't say enough about how amazing the experience was.  Roger Waters at 67 - was phenomenal.  The show and the band performed the whole album and the special effects were amazing.  Here are some shots from the show.  Yes that wall really is there and was built during the show and is then torn down.
Here is the full video time lapse

Fashion Night Out NYC

Last night the streets around mid-town were jammed with thousands of people for Fashion Week.
It was an amazing scene to see Fifth Ave covered in activity.  These two shots show Sarah Jessica Parker entering the Bergdorf Goodman event - she's the little blond swatch in the middle there!

I've been watching the progress of the scaffolding going up at the library building down the street.  It's an amazing process as a few guys work to erect a huge amount of metal and wood to reach the top of the spire and do whatever it is they do up there.

Summer Draws to a Close

The end of the summer and the labor day weekend brings the change in moods for people and our environment.  The colors are just about to fade from bright flowers to the leaves changing to their fall colors.

A Quick Look at the 1972 Hasselblad 500C/M

Just a few snaps of the awesome and durable 500C/M.
