WPPI Sunrise Time Lapse Las Vegas

One of the great new features of the Fujifilm X-T1 is the built-in intervalometer.  A personal favorite of mine, this feature allows you to program the camera to shoot a number of frames (up to 999) in almost any interval.  For the sunrise I set the camera to turn on at 4:35am and shoot a frame every two minutes until 8:30am.  You can see the results in the clip below.  It's really quite simple and dramatic.  Video and technical date below.

The video was done with the XT1 set on Program and Auto ISO to range from 200-800.  The lens was the XF23mm F1.4.  The exposures ranged from 1/4" to 1/240th at F1.4 to F/5.6 chosen automatically by the camera as the seen changed during the early morning hours.  There were only about 120 images for this time lapse which is not many so there were no battery issues.  I popped the images into iMovie and set it in motion.  Pretty simple workflow for this one.

  1. Cool! Can you share a bit more? How did the battery fair? What settings should one use? Aperture Priority? Manual focuse I would assume? And then how did you assemble the clip? Quicktime Pro?
