The Shuttle Lands on Deck

After my trip back in time I rocketed forward to the space shuttle Enterprise.

After photographing the fly by above NY/NJ, then getting some neat shots as it rode up the Hudson to the Intrepid. I was lucky enough to get into the shuttle pavilion and shoot a few fun snaps in its resting place.

An Artist Leaves Behind His Art

Recently I was lucky enough to experience a plethora of ancient and modern man made objects spanning around 3,500 years.

These are photos from the 800 sq ft apartment of the late artist Barton Benes who's entire living space is going to be a museum exhibit as he left it.  There are a myriad of artifacts both collected and made by him.  His ability and creativity are amazing.  The top photo of the beetles really caught my eye - brilliant and colorful!

Barton would use artifacts from our daily lives which ranged from a cloth napkin, a broken toenail, shredded money etc.  His work is widely collected and very interesting.

Take a good look around the place and see how he was clearly an intensely driven collector.

Weekly Email - 7-13-12 - Day on the Links

Although I'm not much of a golf person, I always look forward to my annual outing with Kayce, Mark and Neal.  For me it's not really all about the game but capturing some fun images of the day.  Surprised?  Probably not.

I decided to try my hand at some action shots in the bunkers, and of course there were a few opportunities to test my timing.

The beauty of using a leaf shutter camera like the Fujifilm X-S1 with flash outdoors is the ability to use a super high shutter speed.  The shot of Kayce is a great example of this since she was backlit and the exposure is 1/2000th at F/3.2.  This allows for a nice effect with the sun bearing down on us.
