Fujfilm FinePix X100 - Shipping

As many probably know the X100 has begun shipping overseas. Yes the USA is not shipping cameras yet but will in about 15 days is my guess. A bit of a bummer to have others get out of the gate ahead of us but we will get there.

I'm traveling and want to post more images but have found it easier to find a wifi hotspot on the beach in the Caribbean versus Las Vegas. So more images soon. Any requests? I'll try if possible to fulfill them. Waiting on my production camera and raw conversion software.

Someone asked if you can lock the viewfinder mode so if you have the camera against your body using the LCD it won't switch to OVF. Yes you can set it for either mode only or switching mode through the eye/face detection sensor when it is raised to your face.

  1. Although I don't share the concerns that some have expressed about "bokeh" that this Fuji offers, I'd be interested to hear what you have to say?

In addition how does the OVF seem to you in regard to its percentage of cover and accuracy with regard to its frame lines and what is seen via the EVF or the LCD? I know quite a few rangefinder folks who are very interested in the OVF and whether it is 92% coverage or more?

    Thanks so much!

Thanks for all the X100 information on your blag! I really hope at least one of my pre-orders comes through by the first week of April. Any more delays are really going to make me unhappy :(

    Shot Request:
more handheld shots in low lighting at f/2?
And in addition to the photo it would also be helpful if you shared the experience of taking that photos with the X100.

I would also like to see some more shots at f/2 and high ISO, to really see what light the camera is capable of sucking in.

I am also very concerned about the autofocus speed, and I hope you could explain a bit more about it than "it's slow" or "it's good." I've heard everything from it's as fast as a Rebel to it's as slow as a point and shoot. I understand it uses contrast detection, so I'm not expecting SLR performance, but I would expect it to be as fast than the current micro four thirds cameras. Can you see it being used by street shooters and maybe even photojournalists as a reasonable alternative to an SLR when it comes to focus speed and accuracy? I would so appreciate it if you could elaborate as much as possible, thanks.
