 If there is one accessory which anyone who has used it knows makes a world of difference it is the hotshoe accessory which adds a thumb rest to the camera body - like the old days when we had a film advance lever there.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 Diopters Coming Soon

Fujifilm introduces Diopter Correction Lenses as an accessory for the X-Pro1

Photographers have found it difficult to find the diopter rings for the X-Pro1.  In a month or so we should see them arriving at stores.  This will be a welcome addition to the camera to assist photographers.

In addition if you happen to lose the ring filter that comes with the camera - we do have those IN STOCK at our camera parts department.  The part # FZ09210-100 (unit ring finder) is a clear glass optic.  You can call Fujifilm directly for the camera parts dept to order it - or go through your local dealer for them.   For Fujifilm Edison Parts dial 800-659-3854 then option 1 then press 3.  $21.87 plus shipping and tax.

Fujifilm has announced that it will introduce Diopter Correction Lenses as an accessory for the X-Pro1.

Fujifilm is developing its own brand of Diopter Correction Lenses to accommodate near and far sighted customers who use the X-Pro 1 camera.
The Fujifilm Diopter Correction Lenses will enable these customers to view and enjoy the X-Pro1 Hybrid Multi Viewfinder more effectively.
Manufactured in Japan, Fujifilm’s specially designed 19mm Diopter Correction Lenses are packaged individually in the following six strengths:  +3, +2, +1, -1, -2, -3.
Lens strength is expressed as diopters whereby the higher the diopter, the stronger the lens. The plus (+) or minus (-) sign before the diopter strength indicates the type of lens.
Fujifilm Senior Category Manager - Imaging, Daniel Paul, said the new Diopter Correction Lenses will be a handy and practical accessory for those X-Pro1 customers with prescription glasses.
“The Diopter Correction Lenses will help to improve focus when capturing photos using the Fujifilm X-Pro1,” Mr Paul said.
They are expected to be available in August 2012.

Shooting a Polo Match is Great Fun

For many of us - the act of shooting an event we are interested in can be an enjoyable zen moment.  I love to lose myself in the action and work my gear to capture good images.
When I broke out the EF500mm lens I knew I could blast away and if the light and my positioning was right, I may just get some winners.
I've never shot polo, and it's a huge field as you can imagine.  I think I got a few interesting shots considering the slower aperture of F4.5 on my 500mm lens.


I love the action exhibited by the athletes and horses.  I can only imagine what a thrill it must be to race on the back of a horse or bump other players chasing the ball in polo.
A few of the shots are of Sunny Hale (#4 white) who is widely considered to be the best female polo player in the world and one of the best players ever.

Get up to Saratoga Springs to see the races before they're over this summer - it's a great place to visit.

A Day at the Track - Saratoga Springs

As I mentioned in the post about polo in Saratoga Springs - a day at the races is a great time for all.


The action, betting and people make it a fun afternoon.


There are all types of people enjoying the track all day and partying downtown all night.


I recommend you head up to Saratoga while the racing is on this summer.
