This week I took a walk on the High Line Park at night.  Some of the views are amazing and I wish I could share more here.  The image of the week is this one which makes me feel like I'm watching a few TV images of Tenth Ave running below it.  I was surprised how much I liked the layered feel of the image.  You can also see the streak of an airplane upper left.

This week was a cold one in the northeast.  Ice, snow, rain, slush then more ice with temps in the teens then dropping with the wind chill.  I had on 5 layers of clothing yesterday while working the streets and it was so cold I had to laugh as the wind blew.

So rather than go with a picture from the week I decided to go with a warm shot to brighten the cold morning.

Temps are supposed to triple from now until Sunday!  Have a good weekend.

As most folks who know I'm not much of an eater.

This week I happened upon a sight which just confirms my aversion to certain foods.   I know it will be interesting to hear the responses from some who say YUM and some who say YUCK.

I included the front end of the pig - but not the back end - so I have that as well if you need the view just ask!!

Have a great Superbowl weekend - let the commercials begin!

As a surprise to the bride and groom from last week's images - I did a fun light writing set of images on the beach.

A bunch of folks ask me why do you carry a flashlight with you?  Well there are lots of sane reasons and here is one of them illustrated in the image attached.  I opened the shutter for 30 seconds and wrote their names and the heart - backwards - on the edge of the water at their beach reception party.  Folks were looking at me thinking  - what's wrong with him over there - but I'm happy I got the image done!

We all know how I hate to miss a weekly email on Friday - but I did - so here is the "make-up" one.

I was at a wedding in St. Lucia and cannot help but share two pics from the wedding for the weekly.

I was just a guest - but I snapped a few shots while there this week (ok 1600 is not a few) and here are two of the many favorites.  Now the editing, key-wording and uploading process begins!

Hope you all have a great week - big day for the nation tomorrow.

The first week back to the grind was not particularly exciting - but life on the streets had me looking around my fair city.

The shots here speak to two thoughts.

The AT&T building certainly makes you ask yourself how bad is your office - do you have a window view??  I have a feeling this is where a bunch of the data is collected on our phone calls to and from NYC.

The other shot is of the rail yard leading into Penn Station.  It's amazing so many tracks come from under the Hudson River and into Penn - and this is part of the area being discussed as getting covered and used as "new" land for development on the west side (that may be scrapped with the 2009 economic outlook)

I hope everyone had a great new year's eve.  Next week goes back to the normal routine with work and life in our economically challenged environment.

I thought about what kind of resolution would be a good one and realized we're all probably guilty sometime of checking our cell phone or blackberry at lunch/dinner when out with friends.  Even my six year old nephew is addicted to the blackberry as you see here.

So a good resolution for 2009 is to pay more attention to others and less to the crackberry (when in social situations of course!).

ps - kidding about Simon and the blackberry - though he is a busy executive.

Weekly Email 12-26-08

Happy and healthy holiday to all - no matter what you celebrate!

Today is Boxing Day, First Day of Kwanzaa, 6th day of Hanukkah, the "2nd Black Friday" (retailers hope), and of course the day after Christmas.  (Sorry if I missed your holiday.)

Hope you had a great time with friends and family no matter what the celebration.

Weekly Email 12-19-08

This is a first on the weekly email.  I've decided to send a follow up of the earlier image to show how the weather changed over the course of the day!  Flights cancelled.  Businesses closing early, and a heck of a commute for those in their cars.

Weekly Email 12-12-08

Yesterday while I was walking the city streets I looked down to see the usual colors on the sidewalk from gas, oils, misc detergents, etc forming this rainbow of colors.

So while probably not a good thing for our eco-system - here is a colorful picture of the week to ponder.

Weekly Email 12-5-08

Last night while it was raining on the streets - it was snowing 800 feet above.  The view out the window on the 64th floor was a great one and here it is.

A Quick Look at the 1972 Hasselblad 500C/M

Just a few snaps of the awesome and durable 500C/M.
