Fall Foliage in New York

This week I was at a photo workshop up in the country. Perfect timing to view the blazing fall foliage.

Below is one of my favorite shots taken at 9:40pm with a 30 second exposure when the night was still and the shining stars provided the perfect backdrop.

The Pope Visits NYC

This week New Yorkers celebrated the official start of fall and of course the historic arrival of Pope Francis and UN delegates.  Barricades made getting around the area pretty challenging for drivers but for travelers who ride the subway or walk, it wasn't much of an issue.
Today I was fortunate enough to get the chance to see the pope pass through Central Park. I positioned myself on a slight ridge in hope he would look my way as he passed in the popemobile. Using a 400mm lens on a Leica V-Lux at 800 ISO, I was pleased to get a few decent shots.

It's always interesting to look around at the sea of smartphones in the crowd as well. Basically every single arm was up capturing the moment. No surprise there!

Apple Watch Screen Images for OS2

The new software for the Apple Watch allows you to choose an image and set that as your watch face.  I love this feature and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to locate images which "fit" the time location well.  The software also has an option to rotate images on the face each time you look at it - so if your camera roll has these or other images in it you can see them all day.

These are some of my favorites so far and I hope to add to them shortly as I wander around NYC.  Enjoy them if you like.  All rights are mine for commercial use - but you can use them on your watch.

The native resolution is 312x390 and I sized my images to 936x1170 so there is some ability to scroll in deeper if bored or would like to zoom to crop.
