**Update**
Of course there is no limited edition camera set. Someone made a nice box and put the camera, case and flash in it themselves. That is smart and perhaps a good business judging by the interest in Denmark and beyond - but it's not a new camera or anything from Fujifilm. I still expect the cameras to reach USA dealers on Friday the 29th - but will confirm that as soon as I know.
**Update** I wrote this original post in April. Things seem to have changed since then and the limited edition box may exist - though I cannot confirm it as seen on the web from Japan - it is not for sale in the USA.
So, is this camera ever getting released in the US? or will we continue to get shafted by Fuji?
ReplyDeleteYeah it's totally Fuji's fault an earthquake struck japan.
ReplyDeleteI think that Fujifilm wants to sell us X100's just as much as we want to buy them. If there is a delay, there is probably a good reason. Logistics issues perhaps, marketing maneuvering maybe (a small release might make a few happy but stir the anger pot for the rest, etc), or they wanted to be sure the cameras were flash updated before putting them in our hands. I can understand all these but would wish for some transparency in communication from Fuji. (unless it was some marketing move - our numbers show best results if X100 is released in countries in this sequence...) haha.
